Sammy Medina – Professional Athens Dog Trainer
Sammy Medina became a dog trainer through a deeply personal mission: helping his son, who is on the autism spectrum, experience a fuller life with the support of a well-trained dog. He has since logged over 4,000 hours of hands-on experience in dog training and animal care.
Sammy is an IAABC-accredited, science-based trainer and an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. He has trained service dogs specializing in PTSD support and nightmare interruption and has worked extensively with shelter and rescue dogs facing severe anxiety and behavioral challenges.
Today, Sammy focuses on helping families build clear communication, structure, and trust—preventing behavior issues before they lead to surrender and keeping dogs where they belong: at home.
When he’s not training dogs, Sammy enjoys debating football with his wife (despite claiming he knows nothing about it—Go Dawgs), working out with his son, playing chess, and taking his daughter shopping—usually with plenty of boba tea involved.
